My Journey in education

Hello and thank you for joining me in my journey in math education! I started teaching middle school math in 2011, teaching combinations of 6th and 8th grade math until 2018. During this time, I worked to implement and refine a math workshop model in my classroom. Since then, I have been teaching middle school students in a virtual school here in Wisconsin. I have enjoyed the transition to a virtual setting and it has also allowed me to spend valuable time with my son at his young age!

My Family

With both of my parents being educators, I learned from a young age the impact teachers can have on their students and decided to follow their path. I now live with my wife, who is also an elementary teacher, and our son. We live in a small town near Madison, Wisconsin.

Education

I grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin, and graduated from the school of education at UW-Madison. I am certified in grades 1-8 and earned a minor in mathematics.

Interests

I am a fan of all things baseball! I coach high school baseball and still enjoy playing on a competitive team in the summers. I also enjoy reading and traveling!
